Soft Top Debut Single - 23rd July

Formed in March 2023, Soft Top is the alias and latest brainchild of songwriter Miles Goodall. Pooling together elements of Miles' influences (Andy Shauf, Matt Maltese and Steely Dan to name a few) with generous decorations from a seven piece band (Guitar, Bass, Drums, Keyboards, Clarinet, Cello, and Trumpet) Soft Top's music aims to pull at your heart strings, even if only very gently.

The band individually have all mastered their crafts across some of the other projects they feature in (Hutch, DLD, Sad Dads, TINMAN, Slant, BobbySmiles) and are all songwriters themselves, providing a unique balance of written parts that truly serve each song.

On the live circuit, there have been two 'soft' launches for the project, first a sell out solo show at The Rossi Bar in Brighton on the 15th of April, followed by a quartet (Keys, Bass, Guitar and Clarinet) outing at Arcobaleno in Brighton. Both shows were played to a capacity crowd, and met with an extremely positive response. Following the two 'soft' launches, the full seven-piece band debuted their live set up with a sold out headline show at Rossi Bar in Brighton on June 1st.

As the project grows across the summer, debut single 'Voiceover' will be released on the 23rd of July with plans for a release party. Voiceover focuses on the loss of a lover, and the desperation for something, anything, to change the reality facing you.
