The Dream is Dead

The Dream is Dead (Sydney Moore) is 23 from DFW Texas and creates gothic shoegaze about the fear of growing old. Sydney creates solitary music between 3-6am and is hugely inspired by low budget paranormal videos and imagery. The recording process is sacred and almost ritualistic, around 50 tracks were scrapped before the final 6 of the album were settled on.

Inspired by the dread that comes with getting older and reevaluating childhood dreams, “The Dream is Dead” is a bedroom project that encapsulates the listener, touches on emotional themes and provides catchy basslines, dark melodies and soft whispered vocals throughout its 30 minute run time.
